Meet up with fellow Brompton riders and join us for a Flea Market Frolic on Saturday, December 16!(under 8 mi. total, easy paced)
MEETS 11 a.m. sharp at Trophy Bikes (712 N. 2nd St.); we’ll cruise through Chinatown and then South Philly to the infamous PUNK ROCK FLEA MARKET at the Bok Building.
We’ll GUARD your neatly-folded Bromptons while you shop for funky gift bargains at one of Philadelphia’s more unusual holiday happenings. The PuNk RoCk FleA* features 100 vendors selling vintage and hand-made goods, clothing, LPs and crafty items.
Afterward, we’ll spin north with our swag along the Delaware River and roll through two of Philadelphia’s newest riverfront pier-parks. FINISHES BACK AT TROPHY BIKES;optional after-beverage hangout at one of the fine local pubs nearby.
ALSO back at Trophy Bikes after the ride: special discounts for all Bromptoneers on any and all Brompton goods in stock. PLUS surprise gifts for the owners of the oldest and newest Bromptons on the ride (per serial numbers!).
NOTE: This is a Brompton-only ride, thanks for your cooperation; helmets and blinky lights, please. • RAIN/SNOW DATE 12/17; wear layers–we re-sked only for snow or rain!
(* Note: entry is $3, BUT the first 10 Bromptoneers to arrive at Trophy get free admission to the Punk Rock Flea Market.)
One of the important things about bicycling is that you can choose your own path. The current consumer tsunami that is Thanksgiving and Black Friday, as currently practiced, are, um, the opposite of that. We are in total agreement with REI and other enlightened retailers that being closed on these days is a win for staff and citizens who can then get to hang with family and friends, or just ride off down the path alone for a while, even! Thus please note that we will be closed Nov. 23-24.
WE WILL BE BACK ON DECK for Small Biz Saturday, Nov. 25th, starting at 10 a.m.
– to resume our semi-grueling 7-day/week schedule:
8 a.m. to 6 p.m. weekdays • 10-4 Sat. + Sun.
Cheers, and enjoy your calories – and the rides that burn them off.
(NOTE: Trophy Bikes is at 712 N. 2nd St., though we started at 757 S. 8th, above)
The bottom bracket, or “BB”, is the cartridge bearing/spindle unit that your right hand crank and left-hard crank arm fasten to. In recent months, Brompton Bicycle has received reports of these spindles breaking. Though there were very few reports of this occurrence, Brompton have taken the news seriously and announced a voluntary recall of most bikes made between April 2014 and May 2017. They are asking owners to take their bikes to Brompton dealers for a free repair. To CONFIRM if your Brompton folder is subject to the recall, FIRST, check here on the Brompton website.
TROPHY BIKES IS AUTHORIZED TO CHANGE OUT BOTTOM BRACKETS COVERED BY THE RECALL, at no cost to you. Please call us ( 215-592-1234) to set an appointment. Your bike can be in and out same day in most cases. ALSO: If you feel your Brompton might need other work, be sure to tell us on the phone so we can reserve enough time to do that as well.
Thanks and we look forward to squaring away every Brompton we can, so the world’s best folder stays the most dependable folder as well.

We have never missed a single episode of the Philly Bike Expo, starting when it looked like this:
Awww, wasn’t that cute? Now the Expo is in a bigger-than-ever space at the Convention Center, with more top cycling companies, advocates and artisans than ever before — We will be there with bells on, showing off the new BROMPTON BICYCLE 2017 models which have some notable design changes, which is just about all we can say about that for the moment! Trophy Bikes will again be leading the Brommie Breakfast Roll from 30th Street Station to the Expo, using a rather circuitous path, and celebrating Brompton Saturday and Surly Sunday–more details on all that in our next postings. But do please plan to come to the best bike show on the East Coast. cheers,
