MID-WINTER BIKE WASH! Sat., Jan. 13, Noon-4 p.m. FREE [first-come-first served]

Get a FREE* wash, rinse + chain lube for your faithful machine this SATURDAY.   ALSO: free safety inspections + other specials in the shop! First-come / First-served *NOTE: we will accept TIPS––100% of tips donated to the Bicycle Coalition of Greater Philadelphia.

ADVANCE NOTE: Closed on Thanksgiving and #GetOutside day (a.k.a. Black Friday)

One of the important things about bicycling is that you can choose your own path.  The current consumer tsunami that is Thanksgiving and Black Friday, as currently practiced, are, um, the opposite of that.  We are in total agreement with REI and other enlightened retailers that being closed on these days is a win for staff and citizens who can then get to hang with family and friends, or just ride off down the path alone for a while, even! Thus please note that we will be closed Nov. 23-24.

BROMPTON “Bottom Bracket” voluntary RECALL! Effective ASAP. Please read!

bottom bracket location

The bottom bracket, or “BB”, is the cartridge bearing/spindle unit that your right hand crank and left-hard crank arm fasten to.  In recent months, Brompton Bicycle has received reports of these spindles breaking.  Though there were very few reports of this occurrence, Brompton have taken the news seriously and announced a voluntary recall of most bikes made between April 2014 and May 2017. They are asking owners to take their bikes to Brompton dealers for a free repair.  To CONFIRM if your Brompton folder is subject to the recall, FIRST, check here on the Brompton website.

TROPHY BIKES IS AUTHORIZED TO CHANGE OUT BOTTOM BRACKETS COVERED BY THE RECALL, at no cost to you. Please call us ( 215-592-1234)  to set an appointment. Your bike can be in and out same day in most cases. ALSO: If you feel your Brompton might need other work, be sure to tell us on the phone so we can reserve enough time to do that as well.

Thanks and we look forward to squaring away every Brompton we can, so the world’s best folder stays the most dependable folder as well.
