This SATURDAY, FEB. 28, Trophy Bikes will offer a (post-blizzard) MAKE-UP DAY of the Pen/Paper/Post Card POP-UP. Last week, our pals from Federalist Pens brought acres of fine stationery, hundreds of beautiful fountain pens, and gallons of luxury inks from all over the world. And the Hasty Post Card Co. (one of our profit-lite side projects) displayed thousands of vintage and modern post cards for careful examination and purchase. ••• Unfortunately, the big snowstorm on Sunday shut out most of our visitors. THUS–we’re offering a second showing of Pens, Stationery and Fantastic Post Cards on Saturday, from noon to 6 p.m. YES, we’ll still be selling, servicing and explaining Brompton folder bikes on Saturday – we’re ambidextrous!
FRIDAY 12/13 5 pm to 8-ish… MINGLE JINGLE, our holiday open house.
We invite Bromptoneers to come through and enjoy some light refreshments, and possibly endure some semi-challenging Brompton games (yes there will be swag and chintzy prizes!) that will test your knowledge of the world’s best folder bike.
This Saturday, 11 August, we invite Brompton bike riders to join us in a “top-down” tour of the Philly Free Streets day. Philly Free Streets, now in its 3rd year, will turn Broad Street, from City Hall to Erie Avenue, into a car-free zone from 8 a.m. to 1 p.m.
NOTE: We will meet, RAIN or SHINE! • If it’s like, BIBLICAL RAIN, we may just take the subway to Erie Avenue and hang out, then subway back and retreat to La Colombe or even FERGIES PUB. So, please bring a jacket and be flexible; that’s the beauty of riding a Brompton, the world’s best folder bicycle.
Our event will take advantage of the Brompton’s unique fold to take SEPTA up to the north end of Open Streets. We will meet at La Colombe Coffee Penn Square, on the SW corner of City Hall at 10 a.m. sharp. First, a quick lap around City Hall, then down into a cool, rumbling Broad Street subway car, which will rocket us to Broad and Erie in 16 minutes!
We’ll unfold and pedal back down 100% car-free North Broad Street to City Hall (4.6 miles, easy pace, lots of stops for photos) …and maybe a post-ride beverage at nearby Fergie’s Pub.
The ride is FREE (please bring $2.50 or your SEPTA KEY for the subway trip), but because of space considerations–Brompton bikes only, please. • • RSVP to info@trophybikes.com with BUBS in the subject line to help us know how many Brompton riders to expect. THANKS!
Get that winter muck off yer Brompton folder at the Brommie Wash. From 11 to 2 on Sat., March 17, we’ll give your faithful bike a splash, a scrub and some chain lube too. You can help if you wish (we’ll give you gloves) or just cheer from the sidelines and yell, “You missed a spot!” from time to time. If it’s warm enough, we’ll go for a quick ride at 2 p.m., so bring a helmet and some money for a beer. Cheers!
Get a FREE* wash, rinse + chain lube for your faithful machine this SATURDAY. ALSO: free safety inspections + other specials in the shop! First-come / First-served *NOTE: we will accept TIPS––100% of tips donated to the Bicycle Coalition of Greater Philadelphia.
