HOW to WRECK YOUR BIKE... Tip #121
 Brake pads are cheap ( less than $10 a pair). Here's what happens to brake pads that get used too long--they wear down to the bare metal backing. That metal backing then attacks your wheel rims every time you use the brakes. It soon grinds away the rims, ruining the wheels (more than $100 a set--maybe even more than $300 a pair). So... from time to time, STOP, LOOK (at your brake pads) & LISTEN (for the scraping sound of a rim being destroyed). If you're not sure, SHOW US. We'll let you know if it's time for new pads--instead of new wheels. |
