Softshell, waterproof, underarm vents, zippered cuffs, a phone/iPod pocket with cord port, and in a subtle plaid that you can meet friends without blowing your cyclo-commuter cover.
Here in Philly, it's good jacket for three seasons -- a bit heavy for hot summer. For the rest of the year, wear it alone, layer it, you name it. Not cheap--but worth it.
